There was a relative of ours that every time he visited us, he asked us for a glass,

Casa do Valle is near the legendary Cavez Bridge, a place often mentioned in the work of the famous portuguese 19th century writer Camilo Castelo Branco, and spreads out, protected by the mountain ranges of Barroso and Alvao, along the hillsides of the river Tâmega.
Wine production at Casa do Valle, property since many generations of the Sousa Botelho family, dates back to the 18th century.
The excellent exposure of the vines in this estate, located in the Basto sub-region, along with a carefull selection of grape varieties and winemaking processes, originates wines of recognized quality.

Casa do Valle, Sociedade Agrícola, Ltd. was founded in 1987 to take care and explore the Sousa Botelho family's estate. The production process reflects the alliance between tradition and modernity and the characteristics of the wine produced here reflect permanent search for excellence.
Since its launch in 1989, the Vinho Casa do Valle white wine and red wine are produced by the highest standards of quality in the region. |

The Casa do Valle Vinho Regional Minho Rosé, launched in 1992 is evidence of innovative and irreverent spirit of this Wine Producer – pioneer on the vinification of Vinho Verde Region’s red grape varieties (Vinhao and Rabo-de-ovelha) for production of rosé wines.

In April 1996, to complement the activity, the Casa do Valle opened a Guest House where visitors can relax, enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the region and learn more about these Vinho Verde wines from Basto Sub-Region.

New for 2009 was the launch of the Casa do Valle Grande Escolha, to celebrate the 20 years of the first bottling under this brand. This wine is the result of continuous investment in recent years in two key areas: viticulture - increase in area under vines, plantation of new grape varieties, improvement of the care of each vine; and Oenology - the introduction of new oenological practices in winemaking and improved techniques in the cellar.
